GOI: PENTAGRAM | SECTION: OFFICE OF THE SECRETARY | RANK: Secretary of the PENTAGRAM
SUPERVISORS: Domestic Security Council | SUB-SECTION: N/A
ALIGNMENT: Neutral | IMMEDIATE ACTION: Do Not Engage
OUTLOOK: Despite the tendencies towards self-destructive methods of operation as a means for personal reassurance, the Secretary has been a positive implementation into the PENTAGRAM, and has brought improvement to the agency's intelligence capabilities. Further progression is unlikely, as the Secretary has denied any wish to become a member of the Domestic Security Council. |

These bandages can get uncomfortable. PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: The Secretary is a woman of medium, average height and ectomorphic build. While without her bandages that wrap across multiple parts of her body, she is seemingly an average and unremarkable person. However, due to her Sarkic lineage, the Secretary has water-proof medical-grade bandages wrapped on the following parts of her body: neck, R1 upper right chest region, right buccal area and right eye, forehead, across scalp (frontal, temporal, occipital regions), beneath right ear, both forearms, both legs (mid upper-thigh to ankles), both feet. These bandages are designed to provide comfort without risk of excess moisture - they only slightly inhibit the skin's ability to sweat in these areas. The bandages can be removed, revealing discolored skin with the appearance of "red, shifting streaks" through, in the pattern of veins. Despite them, the Secretary reports that these areas of discoloration have no swelling, pain, or any unpleasant feeling, even when touched. Bandages are worn at almost all times, however they are changed every few days. The lack of any contamination means that the bandages are typically always clean. In regards to attire, the Secretary prefers to wear black suits over traditional female formal dress, with a black tie and white undershirt. In cold, she can also be seen wearing a large black overcoat. |

PERSONALITY DESCRIPTION: While rude demeanors are not intended, the Secretary often comes off as such due to her paranoia, which appears to be a core component of her very personality in a way. It is the result of years of misfortune - as seen in her time in the CIA. Her work ethic remains strong, as she is by all means a dedicated defender of the United States and its interests, however her reign as Secretary, mostly independent from the overview of the President and his cabinet, is not without an iron fist. Her attitudes towards other individuals and organizations in the anomalous world is typically with contempt, however the more sophisticated organizations, such as The Foundation, are viewed with slightly higher regard. Even then, she finds herself unable to trust these foreign entities and ideologies, even if they are fundamentally in-line with the goals and missions of the PENTAGRAM. |
TITLE IV - MEDICAL/INTELLIGENCE INFORMATION
PRESCRIPTIONS: N/A | BLOOD TYPE: AB- | AUGMENTS: N/A | INJURIES IN SERVICE: None
CONDITIONS: Sarkic origins and ritual imbuing have resulted in the Secretary taking hold of Sarkic BIO-TYPE 006, religiously termed as "Akuloth". These Akuloth appear as symbiotic organisms present within the Secretary's flesh, typically nested in muscle tissue, fat tissue, as well as lining hollow spaces such as the peritoneum. While the presence of such organisms - despite their small size - in regular humans would cause pain, soreness, and even infection, the Secretary has no problems with motor skills, and has reported that her Akuloth have never given her any trouble. The Akuloth have shown to provide the Secretary with remarkable levels of immunity towards even highly infectious pathogens. Analysis shows increased WBC levels, but no other properties have been discovered. Additionally, the Akuloth allow for faster healing, which is believed to be nearly ten times as fast as a regular female's healing capability. Blood clots faster, and while severe injuries will still require immediate medical attention, minor to moderate injuries may not require any intensive care.
FOUNDATION ENCOUNTERS: The Secretary has had no officially encounters with The Foundation or personal | INTELLIGENCE ORDERS: Due to the PENTAGRAM's current alignment with The Foundation (neutral), no hostile actions are to be officially taken towards the Secretary. Foundation operatives should maintain distance from the Secretary and her protection teams. Diplomatic endeavors are to be completed with a team of Security personnel on-site. |

BIOGRAPHY: With a family of Latvian lineage (who were fortunate to have immigrated to the United States years prior), Anaya found herself the middle child of a mostly wealthy family. Despite their single-income nature, her father, who was an engineer, managed to get them a nice residence in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The southern heat weltered all-year long, save for a few weeks in winter, but Anaya eventually grew accustom to it - though she still preferred the cold. Growing up with Sarkic lineage, she never found anything disturbing about the crafting of flesh, but she often wondered why it had to be hidden. The Mhevorah family were mostly self-kept Neo-Sarkites. They didn't partake in secret clubs and organizations, as their parents feared that it would fall back and ruin the family. In secret, they practiced small thaumaturgical rituals behind closed doors, but it was never anything spectacular. Her parents always reminded her that she is the only person in control of her destiny, but diverting from common Neo faith, they taught her that destruction of others was a troublesome path to greatness. For the mostpart, Anaya was never super interested in the teachings of Sarkicism or the ritual practices of her family, unlike her younger sister, Kia. While all of them had thaumaturgical potential - as many Sarkites do - Anaya never became proficient in it. As a result of their esoteric religious faith, Anaya was forced to keep quiet about most of her home life at school. Christianity was popular here, but when the other kids, parents, teachers never saw Anaya or her family at church, they started to question things. Anaya had always said that her family preferred to pray and study in serenity and silence, but she eventually got bored of that lie, and began to craft humorous stories of her family being some sort of underground secret religious society. Her peers found it funny, but her teachers, many of whom were heavily religious, thought differently. As she neared the end of high school - which she had excelled in - it was time to determine her future endeavors in life. One day, when her mother was teaching each of them about Sarkic history (the Kalmaktama and such), the complex interactions and rich information of the world at that time fascinated her. As a result, she decided that the world of intelligence was something she wanted to do. At the time, it wasn't the most clear-cut thing in the world, and in the midst of the Cold War, was shrouded in mystery. Despite this, and the inherent dangers within it, her ideas were set. She managed to get accepted to the prestigious Samford University, not far out of the state down south in Alabama. One summer later, and she went down down to start her degree in international relations. Connections meant everything in the world of intelligence, and so her degree helped with exactly that. During her time at Samford, she met various individuals inside of the intelligence community, whether they be active officers or retired veterans. Obviously due to security measures she never learned much about the things that they do, however they definitely pushed her further into the field with recommendations and support. Before completing her degree, she managed to land a job at the Pew Research Center upon the promise of joining the organization once she obtained her degree in full. She helped higher-level researchers with international affairs and whatnot, especially public opinions on such topics. While it might've been boring at other times, the involvement of the public in the Cold War geopolitical sphere was profound, and so her job was not only constantly busy, but insightful into the dynamic world of politics and geopolitical systems. Upon the completion of her degree, she fully joined the Pew Research Center as an international relations researcher. During this time, she had also been learning the Russian language, similar to her own Latvian language (which she was fluent in). Such proficiency was a good mark on her application for a graduate program at the renown Columbia University, where she sought to obtain a Master's Degree in International Affairs. As suggested to her by an insider in the intelligence field, they mentioned that the Defense Intelligence Agency would be a good start. While she was half-tempted to go head-first into the Central Intelligence Agency, she trusted the word of the wise, and stuck with their proposal. During her intense investigations at Columbia University into the then complex political status of the world, she was selected for an internship at the Defense Intelligence Agency. Here, she would help out with basic tasks as a general support personnel - but even with such a small role, it was the first time she got true experience in the setting that she was hoping to work in. There was desk work, and there was ground work, just enough combination to fulfill what her heart desired. Following her thesis, which focused on complex geopolitical relations in Europe involving the Iron Curtain, she was hired into the Defense Intelligence Agency as an Assistant DIA Personnel. I spent so much time here. Having to travel all the way to Maryland, she was basically forced to swap residence as her new facility of assignments became Fort Meade - a major operational site of much of the U.S's intelligence power. Her initial work focused on assisting higher-level intelligence staff, namely human intelligence officers, with cases and records. Following a good history of discipline, adherence to secrecy, and other marks of good standing, she was promoted to the position of Human Intelligence Officer. Her first major assignment - after slogs of general intelligence work, gathering and managing various external assets for U.S interest - was assisting in the Algerian assistance to the Iran Hostage Crisis. Sent to Algiers as an unofficial attachment to the visiting State Department and Treasury Department, she played a role in attempts to investigate Algerian/Iranian plans with potential proposals on the terms of which the hostages would be released. Anaya and her fellow officers managed to obtain information on Algeria's plans on becoming an active member of the negotiations, which played a crucial role in Warren Christopher's talks with the Algerian CBA Founder Seghir Mostefai, the "leader" of the negotiations between Iran and the U.S at the time. Via subtle manipulation of Algerian authorities, it is believed that the contributions of her and her colleagues saved the U.S millions of dollars in debt to Iran. Following this success and the subsequent end of the Iran Hostage Crisis, Anaya had proven her skill and usefulness to the Defense Intelligence Agency. Not even a year later, the Iraq-Iran War called for international involvement once more. Anaya, who would be stationed in Iraq during the time, assisted U.S interests in backing the Iraqi military, however she was removed from the nation only after a few months due to security concerns. Now back in the U.S, Anaya went through further training in human intelligence strategy as was as clandestine intelligence operations. After a brief period, she was re-deployed to Lebanon in order to assist intelligence goals concerning the continued safety of American citizens amidst belligerents from PLO. In several classified documents, there are mentions of Anaya and other intelligence officers meeting with PLO fighters, however with the continued violence in Lebanon and surrounding regions, the U.S eventually ceased peacekeeping operations for good. Anaya was rather disappointed in the outcome, but accepted it nonetheless. Following a promotion into the much-needed role of Intelligence Operations Specialist, Anaya's focus shifted more towards the Soviet threat, especially with her inclusion in Project Socrates as a means to investigate and combat the Soviet Union's attempts to get their hands on American equipment, vehicles, weaponry, and other materials and items. Despite not having a huge part in the project, she did provide assistance with theory-crafting plans of action, especially concerning the Soviet's usage of the Middle East region for acquisition of American assets. Up until this point, her Russian language skills hadn't come into use, but here, she finally had a good way to use them. Amidst the beginning of Project Socrates, Anaya was various locations in Europe to conduct deep intelligence gathering on Soviet pathways and acquisition methods, ranging from covert to overt and legal to illegal. With her Latvian lineage and knowledge, and her fluency in Russian, she managed to uncover plenty of information - though she never went to far. She had not been trained in the true art of "spying", and so her time in Europe was not without fear. Anaya had heard the stories of what they do to captured American agents - and she was determined to not become the next tale. Day by day, it became worse and worse, until she couldn't stand to look out outside anymore. Despite this, she must keep going - she wouldn't want to return to the leaders of Project Socrates empty-handed. Her luck struck zero one a winter day. A disgruntled Soviet officer, who she had been interacting with for quite some time, managed to connect the dots between Anaya and the "service" that she worked for. A firefight ensued between Soviet agents and Anaya - who was assisted by her own team of lower-ranking intelligence agents that she managed. It seemed like her time here was over - but escape just wasn't possible. Following an idiotic deployment of explosive weaponry, the building that the firefight took place it almost completely collapsed. Minutes later, she woke up, grunting and coughing as the dust in the dark made it difficult to breath. She felt around, kicked her legs, pushed against the rock. She wasn't dead, and she wasn't paralyzed, and right now that's the best possible outcome. Eventually she managed get a hold a flashlight on her belt. The small area she found herself in was lit up, and next to her was… A corpse. The man did not move, and he wore dark green with patches and badges of gold and red. It was one of the Soviet officers. She knew that her time was running out, and fast. There were likely officials on the way, and she'd have no way to explain herself out of this situation if they managed to find her. The adrenaline eventually wore off, and a stinging, singing feeling came from her legs. Her pants were coated with blood, as was the rock beneath her. She pushed and shoved the dead man next to her, trying to see if he had any first-aid supplies. There were none. She hoped to God that this wasn't it - that after all of this, she'd die in some dark, cold, horrible place like this. Sarkites are strong. Those are the words her mother always used to say to her - and despite her lack of connection to Sarkicism in a super meaningful way, she took those words to heart. Shepherd the flesh, become the flesh. Flesh was powerful - it is what humanity is made from, after all… That's what she needed! Flesh. With a stern look, she rolled up the sleeve of the Soviet corpse next to her… And with a pocket knife, his flesh was opened. She watched her parents perform their rituals. Sometimes it was when Anaya or her siblings were sick - and when the ritual was done, they were all better. Anaya was rarely ever sick as a child. She watched them do the same thing when they were hurt - whether it be a sprained ankle or a paper cut. That was what she had to do. They always used some kind of energy for it, most often some sort of flesh or blood. Anaya never saw them use a living being, so she was sure that this corpse would do just the trick. Then, there were words. She briefly remembered them, and how they flowed together like water, yet had the strength and boldness of lightning. Quickly, she began to speak, and think. Nothing happened for a few seconds, but eventually, the blood started to dance around. It streamed out of the man's arm, and his arm became red, and then white. His skin began to bubble, abscesses forming and tearing open, revealing small cavities of pulsating flesh beneath. The flesh grew teeth - his skin became a red burn, like leather. The open wounds became plentiful, with dark, hard ridges around them. She shepherded the flesh - and he became the flesh. It was a blessing of Ion, for the Grand Karcist could not stand by and watch any of his loving people fall to something so miniscule. He's already dead. It's fine, right? It was disgusting. Horrific. Deplorable. Revolting. She'd never seen anything like it, but the power of the flesh was, in some way, fascinating. The stinging dissipated, but shortly, it was replaced by light. A strain surged throughout her entire body - she screamed in pain, as her muscles constricted and pulled. It was, by far, the most painful thing she'd ever experienced - for what? Her skin felt as if it burned, and when she opened her eyes once more, she found herself to be in a small clearing. Whatever happened must have been some kind of explosion - or fire - or something. Anaya looked down to her hands - which still felt as if they'd been dunked into molten metal. She screamed and cried - she brushed, scratched, rubbed, but the red streaks wouldn't come off. They were like veins, but they shifted around like a snake, swimming through her own flesh. She'd been shot at. She'd been threatened, she'd been punched and slapped, but this was worse. Ion saved her - but what is this? She felt betrayed - but like Ion, she would not simply lay down and die. With renewed strength, mostly out of fear, she pushed and shoved through the rubble. The light of day peaked through, and it wasn't long before she crawled her way out. Following a long sprint towards a wooded area, she headed to the nearest American base, which was not but a few miles away. Arriving with battered clothes and questionable marks on her skin, Anaya was immediately given medical care. She burning had gone away, but she could not stand to look at her own skin. To see herself. The medical staff were confused, for the marks moved. They did not hurt. Some said it was internal bleeding, others said it could be some kind of cancer. Anaya had no answers, and neither did they. After finding out about what happened in the firefight, Anaya was quickly sent back home. The whole event was kept under wraps, as it would be an unfavorable story to both the Soviet and Western populace. Back at home, Anaya was continuously studied. Doctors tried to figure out what was wrong, but none of them came to an answer. Following the event, Anaya left the Defense Intelligence Agency, following the end of her contract. The final weeks of her time in the organization were mostly desk-work, in which she rarely showed her face. She refused any medical care for her unique "disease", and wore long clothing , and made sure to keep most of her face hidden wherever she went. It wasn't long before word got to the paranormal associations in the U.S, who sought to ensure that she wouldn't threaten secrecy. But, by then, she was already off and working for another company: Stormvault Intelligence Services. This organization somehow managed to find and contact her. They spoke about her recent situation, and offered her employment into a place where "her skills will be insurmountably valuable, and her condition will be not feared, but revered". Cautious at first, she could not simply leave her old life behind. Intelligence was the name of the game that she'd been playing for the past few years, and she wasn't planning on quitting anytime soon, if at all. She was contracted as a Clandestine Services Operator in this new organization, which after several briefings and introductions, she learned existed in the "anomalous world". Unlike the reaction of many others, Anaya was not totally shocked. Sure, she'd heard her fair share of spooky stories and urban legends, but her parents used to tell them about the history of the Sarkites. The Mekhanites, the Daeva, even the Xia. All forgotten about, now living on through quiet whispers under word of mouth. They were never learned about in schools, but they did truly exist. That was about the extent to which Anaya was aware of anomalous organizations - but the existence of a greater anomalous world was not too shocking. It did give a sense of dread, especially as she learned about the complexity of some anomalous systems. She could be watched at every moment for the rest of time. She could be haunted, killed and revived, or worse. The fate she escaped in the ruined building was but a lick of luck. Because of Stormvault's remarkable neutrality and "love of the game" demeanor, Anaya found herself performing intelligence operations on just about anyone or anything - though she strictly avoided doing any against her own nation, which she discovered had two mysterious paranormal organizations, the Unusual Incidents Unit, and the PENTAGRAM. Stormvault didn't know a whole lot about these two agencies, but they told Anaya that she shouldn't have to worry about them too much. What she did have to worry about was The Foundation. This massive, international shadow organization that worked beneath the curtains, pulling the strings of reality. They spoke about it like it was some ancient evil. The Foundation, they said, was older than all other current paranormal organizations, of course save for a few religious ones. They captured, they contained, they studied, and they ensured order wherever they went. Stormvault typically steered clear of The Foundation, however Anaya was contracted by their "Intelligence Department" a few times, mostly regarding third-party intelligence gathering on some terrorist organization they called the Chaos Insurgency. These operations were typically small and short, but the commissions were high in price, and Anaya took part in such wealth as a result of her ability to seamlessly gather and put together intelligence records and gathered information. She wasn't exactly sure why she did what she did, but Stormvault's way of life was simply to do what they were paid for. Unfortunately, as Anaya continued her career in Stormvault, her mental health declined. The more she learned about the cruelty of this anomalous world, the worse she was. Even with the protecting cloak of Ion, she felt too vulnerable, too betrayed to do any good. Sometimes she thought about going back to the "normal world", but there was nothing that could make her forget what she'd gone through up to this point. Even with her promotion to Assistant Case Manager - a mostly administrative position with little groundwork - she still couldn't think right. She knew that ill fate awaited her, and no matter how strong the flesh may be, it could assume victory. In 1986, shortly after the massive intelligence operations on an organization called the Serpent's Hand, she met a man by the name of Jack Walker. The two quickly became friends, and Walker soon revealed that he once had an integral part in the formation of the Central Intelligence Agency - and, more importantly - that he was once a part of The Foundation. He didn't reveal too much about either organization, but after interacting for quite some time, Walker learned of her growing distress. He was no psychiatrist, but he knew that she probably needed something new. Something fresh. Despite what happened while working for the U.S, she wanted to go back, and he would guide her into doing so. Eventually, her contract with Stormvault had come to an end - her last operation quite a memorable one, being the recovery of documents that some sort of underground criminal syndicate had stolen from The Foundation. She wasn't really given all the details, but not that she was out of the organization, she didn't care. They were willing to let her go, but mandated that she keep a locked mouth on the company, its organization, and its mission. She agreed, but within just two months of being out, she was contacted. It was an officer from the Central Intelligence Agency - who had an eye on Anaya as a prospective employee. Her skills in gathering intelligence were deemed useful in both the mundane and anomalous world, and so she was perfect for the job. With her wishes fulfilled of returning to the U.S government, she accepted the task and was sent through CIA Case Officer, which lasted several months. During this time, she was exposed to more confidential information than ever before, mainly due to the fact that she was set to enter the CIA's Office of Occult Operations. After the training period, she entered a short "provisional" period of being a regular Case Officer, before being sent straight to the OOO (or 3O). After the subsequent orientation, she was finally ready for tasks. As the Cold War was still raging on, tensions between the United States and the Soviet Union were still high. During her training, she found out about the Soviet Union's own "anomalous agency", the GRU Division "P". They specialized in anomalous research and eigenweapons, particularly a specific field of anomaly called psionics. While it didn't sound dangerous at first, the thought of an army of soldiers who could move objects and communicate with just their mind seemed like a nightmare to deal with - it was no wonder that the 3O (and the U.S for that matter) considered their psionics program such a threat. She was also introduced to the United States' other two primary paranormal organizations during this time: the Unusual Incidents Unit, and the PENTAGRAM. Technically she was already in the PENTAGRAM (as the agency was an all-encompassing organization for the U.S's paranormal organizations, except the UIU), but members of the 3O often saw themselves as at least slightly separated - and for that, and PENTAGRAM's questionable ethics, they often held the agency in a view of distrust. One of her first tasks was gathering diplomatic intelligence at a meeting in northern China. It was said to be a large event that could possibly concern the anomalous, and so Anaya and a few fellow intelligence officers were given fake identities as U.S diplomats. While communist China wasn't on best terms, it was good enough to get into the place. At the conference, Anaya managed to obtain proof that anomalies were at play without revealing her own identity as a member of the PENTAGRAM, or CIA. Of particular interest was a lady who stood out from the crowd. Anaya felt herself drawn in to talk to her - and that she did. The lady led them to a quieter, more serene area - and here, she revealed her knowledge of the anomalous. She had an uncanny feeling to her, as if she knew everything about Anaya, somehow. The lady refused to tell her name or her organization, and it was clear that she was of no country or flag. Despite this, the two got along well - at least well enough to see each other as "equals". Shortly after, Anaya would go elsewhere, seeking to gather even more information. Nearing the end of the event, tensions were rising between Anaya, her team, and a few other event-goers that appeared to be from the Soviet Union. As it turned out, one of these members were part of the psionics program - they were a clairvoyant. In conjunction with the hosts, an attack was planned in order to capture Anaya and her team, as their cover had been broken. Due to certain circumstances, Anaya and her team were able to escape the event by means of [FINITE ERROR BOUND - MARKED FOR DELETION]. RECOLLECTIONS: Anaya V. If you notice any temporal discrepancies, please notify a RAISA Operant immediately. ─ The Director After the events in China were done and dusted, Anaya returned to the United States with valuable information, and fortunately, the events in China had been almost completely covered up. While normally she'd find relief, she simply couldn't Anaya had been in debt before, but now she found herself in debt that she couldn't even understand. That lady, who "helped" her and her colleagues. She demanded payment that Anaya wasn't even sure was valuable in any form. Regardless, it was agreeing or facing the wrath of the Soviets, and so Anaya was left with no choice. Every day since then, she shuddered awake, wondering if the debt would get worse. If it'd make her life a living hell. Without an easy way to contact the lady, she would find no answer - not for a while. Back on U.S soil, she was placed into a management position for a short while, as kinetic intelligence operations concerning the Cold War had come to a temporary halt. She spent a majority of this time creating plans and analyzing gathered intelligence, making more and more sense of the GRU-P's psionic programs. During this time she started talking to Walker again, who seemed to be proud of her employment into the CIA. After a few months, he revealed to her that he was once a member of The Foundation. He didn't tell her exactly what he did, or even why he left, but he commended her on her determination to dive into the world of the anomalous - something he said that there was no backing out of. With a sense of connection, Anaya subtly revealed the incidents in China to Walker, hoping that he, with his apparently infinite wisdom, might know of a way to lessen the effects of her deal with the lady, whatever they may be. In a twist of fate, he offered her some form of protection. He wouldn't say what, or how, but he did reveal his extensive "armament" of special projects and surprising amount of resources. In return, Anaya would pledge appropriate neutrality towards The Foundation, should she ever achieve a position of high management. Without much to lose, Anaya agreed to this deal as well. Shortly following this incident, Anaya was offered a position directly within the PENTAGRAM, which may have been influenced by none other than Walker. It was in the 1st Intelligence Corps, mostly responsible for covert intelligence gathering. Already experienced with her fair share of such tasks, she agreed, and formally left the CIA for new possibilities. After a brief orientation period, she was assigned to the covert collection of intelligence concerning a "terrorist" organization with extensive militaristic and underground arms trading ties within the United States. She'd heard about it before - the Chaos Insurgency. Every time they were described to her, they seemed to be a bunch of psychopathic fools who loved nothing more than to destroy. Easy enough, she figured. People like this often didn't do a great job at covering their tracks. As a result, she conducted several intelligence operations on the organization, each of which were forwarded to the PENTAGRAM's command staff. While they weren't exactly hostile with the Chaos Insurgency, they could not be trusted. Anaya had revealed several underground trade routes and deals with private individuals, as well as small groups of actors. Hoping to slowly decrease the power of the Chaos Insurgency, PENTAGRAM members, Anaya included, regularly approached these actors with offers of becoming PENTAGRAM suppliers. However, some actors were rather instantly detained, many sent to the confines of ADX Paramax. With her rapidly appearing contributions to the PENTAGRAM, Anaya was assigned as the chief of station for a large intelligence operations base within Europe, who was, in recent months, experiencing increased levels of PENTAGRAM activity. Mostly assigned with managing the collection of intelligence on anomalous Europeans groups, Anaya found peace with not being down in the dirt anymore - but with deals behind her back at all times, she never felt truly invulnerable. By 1990, her continued operation of the intelligence facility was met with positive regard from the PENTAGRAM's highest levels of leadership. With her assistance, the operations of the GRU-P were on a decline, as were the capabilities of the Soviet Union itself. Anomalous intelligence made its way up to the President of the United States, where it provided excellent usage in diplomatic endeavors, and the continued safety of American citizens and intelligence/military personnel. One year later, following the dissolution of the Soviet Union in late 1991, Anaya was promoted to Executive Staff, taking a leadership position under the Chief of Intelligence, serving as one of the leaders of clandestine intelligence operations across the world. Focusing on mostly unsophisticated yet powerful anomalous organizations (such as the Chaos Insurgency, Serpent's Hand, Church of the Broken God, etc), she managed to increase the PENTAGRAM's standing within the anomalous world, and continued to ensure its undisputed power. Additionally, with a few intelligence missions concerning The Foundation, she sought to rectify the soured relationship between PENTAGRAM and The Foundation - even if it was just by a little bit. As Walker had said, she would eventually find herself in the leadership of the PENTAGRAM. Such a day came when the then Secretary promoted her to the Chief of Intelligence. During one meeting with Walker, he gave her a massive offer. Now in a position of international anomalous wisdom, Walker decided to tell her more about The Foundation. While some reports suggested that The Foundation was led by a group of "Overseers" or "O5 Councilors", that was about it concerning The Foundation's leadership. In return for insurmountable levels of funding, he entrusted her the task of finding one of these Overseers. He called him O5-3, and revealed to Anaya that he was in a position of extreme importance, even outside of The Foundation. Besides that, there was nothing else to tell her. He gave no time limit, and was sparse with what he was willing to reveal to her about The Foundation. Regardless, the funding was too good to put aside. After consultation with the Secretary, a new mission had been put on the PENTAGRAM's plate. The following year, upon the Secretary's dismissal, Anaya was elected for appointment to the position of Secretary by George H. W. Bush. With a Senate confirmation, she had finally achieved the greatest position within the American anomalous world. It felt invigorating, exciting. In some parts of her mind, she was ecstatic, for this was everything she'd ever worked for. But, deep within, there was fear. She had debts, promises, deals. She managed to keep these feelings locked away for the most part, but eventually they'd bleed into her life in one form or another. The Foundation always found a way to dig its god-containing claws into everything. As far as Anaya was concerned, nothing was safe. Not even herself. |

ANOMALOUS DESCRIPTION: The spontaneous creation of the Akuloth resulted in the formation of odd "warping" scar tissue across a large portion of Anaya's body. This tissue typically appears as red streaks through the skin, which shift and warp around. Despite Anaya's claims that it causes no pain, these streaks regularly give a "burning" sensation, which can be exacerbated in periods of extreme emotional distress. In events of injury or when Anaya is not wearing bandages, friction can result in bleeding, which can be difficult to stop. Temporal Disengagement In other terms, this property has no further effects on Anaya or her physical surroundings. |
